Preparing Youth for the Workforce Curriculum and training is provided to help instructors teach young people in grades 6-12 how to prepare for the current workforce and future careers. The From Schools to Careers to Success workbook is used to help staff engage young people in meaningful career exploration activities that encourage independent study.
Inspiring Black Boys To Read - Research indicates that children that can not read on grade level by the fourth grade have an increased likelihood of general failure in life. This workshop will teach staff how to inspire boys from urban communities to read.In addition, it will provide strategies for developing reading groups outside the classroom and in the home.
Teaching Decision Making Skills Curriculum and training is provided to help counselors, social workers, coaches, and mentors teach decision making, life skills and critical thinking to youth grades 6-12. The Dare To Be King curriculum focuses specifically on urban male students and provides an entire year of activities that engage youth. A Dare To Be Queen curriculum is also available to address specific concerns found in the adolescent female student population.
